Al-Masjid an-Nabawi in Medina is the second holiest site in Islam, built by Prophet Muhammad himself in 622 CE. The mosque contains the Prophet's tomb beneath the famous Green Dome, along with the tombs of the first two caliphs, Abu Bakr and Umar. It was one of the first mosques built in Islamic history and has been expanded multiple times. Praying in this mosque is believed to be 1,000 times more rewarding than praying elsewhere.
